In a global century, the Midwest must let go of the industrial giant of the 20th century
Often American history of the Midwest conjures up images of farm towns and industrial cities. Over the last sixty years, the Midwest has slowly been engulfed by the tides of globalization that has unraveled the safe and long standing economy of the region. Farming and industry of the past cannot support an entire region in the 21st century.
